Distribution of The Chacahoula to students begins the last week of April near the Indian Bookstore at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Students should bring their university identification cards when they pick up their copies of the yearbook.
Since The Chacahoula is paid through student fees, ther is no charge for full-time students. If there is a surplus of books and individuals desire to order or pick up copies at Student Publications offices, copies per book are $15. There is an additional $5 shipping charge for mail orders.
History
The Chacahoula's first volume was published in 1933 when The University of Louisiana at Monroe was only two years old and the name was Ouachita Junior College. The first edition contained 36 pages - all produced in black and white - while the 2000 Chacahoula will have 336 pages, with 75 in color. Students, faculty and the spectrum of campus life are showcased in People, Academics, Sports, Organizations, Greeks and Student Life sections.
